What is the KCC Collaborative Family Practice?

The goal of Collaborative Family Practice is to provide a solutions based approach to sepration and divorce in Alberta. Instead of going to court, both parties work with a lawyer, together with our certified practitioner to reach fair and lasting agreements - together.

This process helps families avoid the stress, cost, and conflict of litigation while staying focused on what matters most: the well-being of everyone involved, especially the children.

How It Works

The role of the family specialist or divorce coach is to support the emotional and relational aspects of seperation, helping families navigate the process with less conflict and more clarity. They also provide the following:

  • Emotional support
  • Communication coaching
  • Parenting support
  • Child focused insight

Why It Matters

Divorce isnt just a legal process - it's a human one. A counsellor or social worker brings a compassionate lens to the table, helping families preserve dignity, reduce conflict, and lay the groundwork for long term emotional health and resilience.
