Allison Aos is a provisional Occupational Therapist passionate about helping people of all ages reach their fullest potential. She completed her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta and a BSc at the University of Lethbridge and is thrilled to be back in her hometown, giving back to the Lethbridge community and surrounding area where she grew up.
Allison’s experience spans a range of settings and populations, including acute care (orthopedics, stroke), pediatric outpatient (Alberta Children’s Hospital – Cerebral Palsy: Arm More + Camp), mental health (clinic, home visits, and inpatient psychiatry), and return-to-work programs (chronic pain). She also volunteered as a student occupational therapist at Augmented Communication Camp (AAC) Camp Alberta in Edmonton, where she supported families in using communication devices effectively and guided them in creating meaningful interactions.
From an early stage in her life and education, Allison has been dedicated to supporting children and individuals with developmental disabilities. Throughout high school and her undergraduate studies, she worked and volunteered in programs focused on inclusion and developmental support. During her time at the University of Lethbridge, she volunteered at Park Meadows Elementary School working in Parker’s Place, where she assisted children with exceptionalities. These formative experiences deepened her passion for working with children and fostering environments that celebrate every individual’s strengths.
Throughout her practice, Allison has had the privilege of collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver holistic, person-centered care tailored to each individual’s unique needs. Guided by empathy, inclusion, and empowerment, she is deeply committed to creating spaces where everyone feels heard, valued, and supported. Allison believes in the transformative power of compassion and strives to build communities that celebrate diversity and the strengths of every individual.
Allison uses a family-centered approach in her practice, helping children build on their strengths and interests to foster independence and enhance their quality of life. She’s equally dedicated to supporting individuals across the lifespan, from children to older adults, in achieving meaningful participation in their daily lives.
Outside of work, Allison enjoys staying active, spending time with family and friends, and exploring the outdoors with her dog. She loves summers by the lake in BC and keeps busy in the winter skiing and snowshoeing.
