Jenna Bruised Head has an background in education with experience teaching diverse classes from kindergarten to grade 8. She earned her bachelor of Education at the University of Lethbridge in 2016 before completing a Master of Special Education at the University of Alberta in 2021. Jenna started her teaching career at Kainai Board of Education where she taught grades 5, 1 and kindergarten before moving to a local school division teaching grades 6-8, and English as an additional language. Jenna has had the opportunity to support individuals with different disabilities which drove her passion for inclusive education. She works from a strength-based, child-centered approach and believes that all behaviour is a form of communication. Through her experience, she has seen how inclusivity and play-based learning allows all students to shine and achieve their best. Jenna gained experience working alongside OT’s, SLP’s, councilors, and behaviour therapists to create specialized instructional and behavioural support plans to foster student success and enhance learning.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and 3 dogs, reading, yoga, and is an avid self-taught baker. She is excited to join the KCC team and is looking forward to supporting children and their families in a new way.
